“We have to dare to be ourselves, however frightening or strange that self may prove to be.”
– May Sarton
I’m Kathryn. You may call me a change coach, life coach, advisor, or personal developer. In short, I can help you to change your life and give you the tools and strategies you need to create a life where you’ll move from surviving to thriving.
Change is the only constant we have in our lives, and sometimes it knocks us around at the wrong time and harder than we believe we can manage. But manage we do.
I managed – and it wasn’t pretty or easy. In fact, I’ve got quite a few nicks and scars to be proud of. I went through a period of loss – losing both my parents, the fear of losing my husband to cancer, losing three jobs in 18 months (that must be a record!) and setting up a business that failed. I had hit a particularly bad streak.
I didn’t want to be beaten and knew that the only way out was to step outside my comfort zone, and to pick myself up and create a new life.
That’s exactly what I did. I learned how to deal with grief, rejection and failure, and continued to create a life where I’m not only surviving – but thriving daily.
I had reached a point where life seemed too painful, and carrying on would only push me into a downward spiral. I felt trapped in a daily routine, and my career seemed to have reached an impasse. I feared failing yet again.
It took me a while to figure out that I needed to create a new life for myself, and that I needed to learn how I could lead the life I’ve always dreamed of. When I did… life became great again.
I am very pragmatic and knew that I was a great teacher. After all, I had been a teacher for many years. During this time I didn’t only teach, but also learned how to listen and understand people, spot opportunities, and help people make decisions that greatly impact their lives.
As well as my professional experience, I also have a lot of life experience. Both of these are the foundation of the tools and strategies I developed to make sustainable changes in my life – and in the lives of others too.
The power of choice
The most important thing I realised was that every single one of us has the power of choice. It is up to us to decide to change our lives and our careers. We can choose to lead a life that we enjoy, and a life that is meaningful to us.
In saying that, we do often need a bit of help to get to that point, and that’s totally fine. In fact, it’s actually quite smart to take a shortcut and work alongside someone when you’re wanting to make a change. Someone who has been there before.
I have been there before, and I know what it’s like, and most importantly, how to change it. I want to help you not only take the first step into this new life or career, but take many steps towards creating a new, sustainable, and fulfilling life.
I love creating opportunities and providing resources to take people from surviving to thriving in life. It’s my passion.
All the best, and I look forward to hearing from you.
